The MOD-10 modem is a multi-function modem suitable for data communication using the voice band. The modem operates over copper cables or feeds into other data communication circuits with a suitable frequency band between 300 and 3,700 Hertz .
The mode of operation is programmable using the SystemCORP WebCAN configuration software.
The following operation modes can be configured:
- Bell 202, 1200 Baud, 4 Wire, Full Duplex, FSK
- V.23, 1200 Baud, 4 Wire, Full Duplex, FSK
- V.22 bis, 2400/1200 Baud, 2 Wire, Half Duplex, Auto Mode, QAM
- V.32, Auto Mode 14400 bps with automatic fallback through to 4800 bps, 2 Wire, QAM
Data carrier is controlled via the RTS line or through a control switch on the front panel.
LEDs on the front panel allow the operator monitoring TX/RX data traffic and the status of the hardware handshake lines RTS and CTS.
Modem data can be monitored using the service port on the front panel. The WebCAN Designer software offers user friendly diagnostic tools.
The field termination module MOT-10 provides termination sockets for the serial RS232 port and the 2/4 wire line interface. Additional surge protection is also provided for the line interface .The termination module is located on the rear side of the system rack.
