The PSM-50 power supply module provides all modules of the CFE rack with a supply voltage of +5Vdc.
The PSM-50 power supply module provides all modules of the CFE rack with a supply voltage of +5Vdc. The output current of one module is sufficient for a fully populated rack. The module outputs are short circuit protected. In addition, fuses on all voltage rails add more security and system reliability.
A built-in capacitor bank bridges power interruptions for up to 20 milliseconds.
The PSM-50 module is equipped with LED status indicators on the front panel for:
- Primary input voltage present
- Status primary side input fuse
- System voltage present and fuse status
- Optional auxiliary voltage output and fuse status
A system rack accommodates up to two PSM-50 power supply modules. They operate in a parallel/redundant mode.
A power failure alarm output indicates any loss of power to a module. This signal can be monitored by other system components for reporting or local visual alarm indication.
Field connectivity is provided on the PST-10/20 type termination modules using compression type terminals. The PST-10 is also equipped with two additional fused auxiliary system voltage outputs.
Surge protection and EMC/EMI filtering is integrated on the PST termination modules.
The 3kV primary-to-secondary circuit isolation is a standard feature of the DC/DC converter used.
The PSM-50 power supply module is passively cooled across the entire operating temperature range.
