ICD Designer (v1.1.0.6) is a Windows® based software used for configuration of IEC 61850 enabled products. This "ICD Designer" application is used to define and edit substation configuration descriptions for IEC 61850 through a graphical user interface to create an XML formatted file.
It is capable of updating, manipulating SCL, CID, ICD files with a user friendly interface. Additional standard protocols such as IEC 101, 103, 104, DNP3 and ModBus are also supported and automatically saved in the corresponding configuration files.
Minimum System Requirements:
- Microsoft Windows® System XP, Service Pack 2 or higher
(Windows 2000 not supported)
- Intel Core 2 Duo® 1.8 GHz or AMD AM2 x2 3800+
- 1024 MB or more system memory

Installation Instuctions:
- Goto Download Page. ** You will need to register and log in to download the software **
- Run the ICD Designer demonstration installation.
- For infomation on using ICD Designer consult the ICD Designer User Manual (under Help menu within application as well as here on this site).
- View the Sample.ICD file.
- Also run the IEC 61850 Single Chip Solution Presentation (PPT) which contains *.wmv walk-throughs using ICD Designer with the DK-61.
