ICD Designer is SystemCORP Embedded Technology’s Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) Capability Description designer application. This ICD Designer application is used to define and edit substation configuration descriptions for IEC 61850 through a graphical user interface to create an XML formatted file. You must have the Demonstration version 1.1.0.6 or higher to initiate the purchase from within the Help About... dialog box, AND be running on the intended PC that will be using the Full Version of ICD Designer (it will only be licensed to run on THAT PC). The computer’s unique information is identified by ICD Designer Demonstration for the creation of the license key. Be sure that this PC intended for running the full version of ICD Designer has an Internet browser (recommended Internet Explorer or Firefox) and it is connected to the Internet. Lasty, check that you have the Window Packet Capture Library DLL.

Step 1 - Buy an ICD Designer token.

Step 2 - Pay by Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard) on secure website.

Step 3 - Receive (the paid Tax Invoice) receipt.

Step 4 - Use the token to receive key.

Step 5 - Receive the license key and download full version.

Be sure you have installed the Window Packet Capture Library:

After you receive the license key and downloaded the full version, run the installation and follow the installation instructions.

The first time you enter the full version you must enter the Name and Key EXACTLY (it would be best to copy/paste – be aware of spaces) from your purchase email or from your on SystemCORP's website  to activate the software application.

You will not be asked to enter the key again (with Vista and Windows 7 be sure that you run as administrator when you first enter the license information or you will be asked for the Name and Key everytime you start ICD Designer).
