KEMA IEC 61850 Certificate Level ASystemCORP Embedded Technology has passed KEMA compliance testing on the WebCAN Substation Control and Monitoring System using the PIS-10 IEC 61850 API software stack.

The system configuration was rather large and complex and additional features were implemented to demonstrate the full capabilities of the IEC 61850 using SystemCORP Embedded Technology’s PIS-10 software stack.

Currently, another two of our customers are preparing for their own product KEMA certification using the PIS-10 IEC 61850 software stack from SystemCORP Embedded Technology Pty Ltd. “We are looking forward to announcing their successful completion”, says Detlef Raddatz, Managing Director.

“We are very confident that these tests will be successful. The compact structure of our stack and its' easy to use API ensures that around 80% of IEC 61850-10 test requirements are covered by our stack itself - regardless on which hardware platform or software operating system the stack has been implemented.”

For detailed information and test results please see the pdf KEMA Certified Stack Log for SystemCORP IEC 61850 . The “Functions Integrated in PIS-10 Stack” column illustrates how comprehensive the API Stack is when implemented in any IEC 61850 application. Therefore, the time spent developing specific IEC 61850 applications can focus mainly on the requirements of the application rather than whether it will meet compliance.

Also as a developer, the API Stack removes the tedious details of implementing the actual Standards specifications (IEC 61850-6, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4, and 8-1). Development of custom client/server applications via SystemCORP’s API that meets the functional and performance communications requirements compliant with these IEC 61850 standards, therefore supporting current IEDs, future IEDs, and further substation technological developments regardless of the vendor.
